Tooth whitening can be a very effective way of lightening the natural colour of your teeth without removing any of the tooth surface.
At Park Street Dental Clinic, we can produce tailor-made whitening trays and provide whitening gel in order to complete tooth whitening at home.
An appointment is made to take impressions, which are used to create whitening trays. You will be provided with whitening gel and instructions on how to complete whitening at home.
On average, most patients achieve results in two weeks. However this may vary depending on a variety of factors.
At Park Street Dental Clinic, tooth whitening costs £350. If you are a patient registered on one of our payment plans, you will benefit from a 15% discount off this fee.
The effects of whitening are thought to last up to three years. However, this will vary from person to person. The effect is less likely to last as long if you smoke, or eat or drink products that can stain your teeth.
You may buy additional whitening ‘top-up kits’, allowing you to re-visit whitening at any time, provided your whitening trays are not damaged and still fit correctly.
Some people may find that their teeth become sensitive to cold during or after the treatment. This is usually temporary and should disappear within a few days.
If you do experience sensitivity, we would recommend taking a day off whitening every 2-3 days. You may also apply toothpaste aimed at sensitive teeth directly onto the affected areas.

Tooth whitening can only lighten your natural teeth. It will not work on any types of ‘false’ teeth, such as dentures, crowns and veneers.
Cutting down on food and drinks that are likely to stain the teeth, as well as stopping smoking, will help prevent discolouration and staining.
