Invisalign® is a subtle but highly effective treatment that uses specially designed aligners to gradually move teeth into their desired position. It is a great option for adults who may feel self-conscious about wearing noticeable fixed braces.

What is the Invisalign process like?

Invisalign® can treat a whole range of issues, from minor tooth alignment to much more complicated cases. Once we confirm that Invisalign is a suitable treatment for your specific requirements, we will use the latest technology to create a 3D scan of your teeth using the iTero intraoral scanner which allows you to see how your teeth will look during and after the process.

When your aligners are ready, we’ll fit you with your first custom made set and then, every two weeks, you’ll change to a slightly different aligner until teeth are gradually moved into place. Regular checks will ensure they’re moving in the right direction throughout the treatment period.

What are the advantages, and how long does Invisalign take?

1. The main advantage of Invisalign® is that the straightening process is so discreet. The custom made aligners are virtually invisible and can be removed for cleaning, eating or those extra special occasions.

2. The process will vary depending on each individual case – most simple cases can be completed in just 6-12 months and more complicated cases within 1-2 years.

3. One of the big advantages of Invisalign® aligners is that they can be taken out for short periods when you have a special appointment (for example an important meeting or major social event) but try not to do this too often! Remember Invisalign® will only work while your aligners are in place and we recommend that they are worn day and night for a minimum of 22 hours (and only removed for eating and cleaning).

1. We use predictive 3D modelling (based on over 5 million clinical cases worldwide) to plan your treatment. This results in a Clincheck® report unique to your individual needs.

2. A ClinCheck® is a short 3D animated movie that allows you to see your predicted Invisalign treatment result before you even begin the Invisalign process. This allows you to see the movements that your teeth will go through, as well as the end result, and is what many patients find attractive and reassuring about Invisalign.
